Dr Robert Kent

Director
Rob is an experienced, residency-trained equine surgeon with a particular interest in equine surgery, lameness and poor performance.

After graduating from the University of Sydney, Rob worked in mixed practice before undertaking an equine surgical internship at Scone Equine Hospital. He then worked in equine ambulatory and reproduction practice across several southern and northern hemisphere breeding seasons.

Rob subsequently spent five years as a racetrack veterinarian in Melbourne and on the Mornington Peninsula, working with some of Victoria’s premier racehorse stables. In 2018, he commenced an equine surgical residency through the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists. Under the mentorship of Dr Jim Vasey at Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital, Rob further developed his expertise in equine surgery, lameness and poor performance.
Rob established Shepparton Equine Veterinary Service in 2023. With three gorgeous daughters, an equine medicine specialist wife and a busy veterinary practice, there is never a dull moment!

Stacey’s professional career spans more than 20 years (2004 University of Queensland graduate) in leading equine referral practices in Queensland (Oakey Veterinary Hospital), the United Kingdom (Rossdales), and Victoria (Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital & Avenel Equine Hospital). Her specialist training was undertaken at the University of Melbourne Equine Centre from 2011-2014. Stacey holds two master’s degrees: a Master of Philosophy (research) in Exercise-Induced Pulmonary Haemorrhage in Thoroughbred and Standardbred Racehorses and a Clinical Master of Veterinary Science (MVS). Stacey is Australian Fellow and European Diplomate in Equine Internal Medicine.
Stacey's special interests include foal intensive care, ophthalmology, cardiology and poor performance. With most of her professional career undertaken in Victoria and the Goulburn Valley, Stacey is familiar to many of our regular clients.
Casey lee Collins
Clinical PA
With a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and over 12 years' experience working in equine, companion animal and emergency veterinary clinics across Victoria, we are delighted to have Casey here as our clinical PA.
Casey cares for our hospitalised patients, keeps the ship running and Rob on time and on track to his ambulatory calls. Outside of work, Casey is a very active competitor in roping and most weekends during the competition season will see her travelling far & wide across Australia's eastern seaboard with her horses.
Rebecca O'Callaghan
Equine nurse
Rebecca is a highly experienced equine veterinary nurse who assists at SEVS on a regular basis. With previous long term equine nursing experience at Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital and a busy rehabilitation, spelling and agistment property to run, we are very fortunate that Bec is available to help on our surgery days or when our caseload is high.
